Research the crystal you plan on using your elixir beforehand to see if has the qualities that meet your needs. Make sure it is an insoluble stone and not classified as toxic (see below).
To make a crystal elixir, place the gemstone of choice in a glass jar of purified or distilled water. Always be sure to use, a glass jar rather than a plastic one because chemicals from plastic could leach out into your elixir.
Start by thoroughly washing your crystals, making sure that you remove any hidden dirt or bacteria, then energetically cleanse them. You also need to set your intention for the gem water.
Once you have done this, place your crystals in the water and cover the glass container with a lid. Once the crystal is in the glass receptacle place it outside for twenty four hours or more to soak up the sun and moon’s healing life force. Alternatively, you can leave your gem water on the kitchen bench or in the fridge, do whatever feels best for you. You will need to drink your gem water within 48 hours of preparing it, as it doesn’t contain any preservatives.
The idea is that when we drink the elixir it will cause physical shifts in the body as it heals our own molecular structure as it aligns it more closely with the energy of the crystal.
Which Crystal?
Quartz are commonly used in elixirs and many people describe feeling an almost immediate charge after drinking a quartz elixir. Other popular stones include Popular crystals to place directly in water for drinking include; Rose Quartz, Smokey Quartz and Amethyst.
Russian Shungite is another popular favourite to use for drinking water as advocates believe that it helps to cleanse energise the water. It is also believed by many to have has EMF protective properties that are an added bonus.
Suitable crystals to infuse directly in water are usually smooth tumbled crystals. Natural, unpolished can also be used but avoid using crystals with a matrix as it can compromise the water quality.
Using this method can take as little as 30 minutes for the water to be infused. To see what crystals are right for you, why not try a crystal a day to test suitability for your energy requirements. Then try various combinations.
