Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. mindfulness can be cultivated through mindfulness meditation or other mindfulness-based practices.

The three key qualities of mindfulness are intention, attention, and attitude. Intention refers to the willingness to cultivate mindfulness and return to it again and again. Attention refers to focus on what is occurring in the present moment without judgment or reactivity. Attitude is characterized by curiosity, kindness, and compassion.

When practiced regularly, mindfulness can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while promoting well-being and peace of mind.
