All About Auras: Shape, Colours and Meaning

0

Are there times when you feel uncomfortable in crowded places, in a small group, or even one-on-one? Are there moments when you feel as if your personal space is being invaded, an uneasy feeling that something is not quite right? Only some people can come close to you without making you feel ill-at-ease?

On other occasion the opposite may be true. We walk into a room of dear friends or family, and we literally feel our energy field lift and our hearts sing. There are times when we also feel very much at ease in a crowd, at a concert of loved music, a theatrical performance or a sporting event which thrills us. Then there is that very special feeling when we are up close and personal, intimate perhaps, with someone special, when we feel safe and completely at ease.

Both the negative and positive feelings alluded to above are probably the result of feelings and emotions that we are picking up via our auric field that is subsequently impacting on our energetic body anatomy.

So, what is the aura and what is the meaning of the different shapes, divisions and colours that might appear in our auric field?

What is the Aura?

The aura is an invisible shield or layer that surrounds all living things, or rather a series of shields and layers. Animals and plants have an aura just like people. Indeed, from a shamanic gardeners point of view, everything is alive, so rocks, mountains, rivers and even buildings have their own energetic imprint and manifestation, but we’ll leave that discussion for another day!

Your aura includes information about how you communicate, your truthfulness, your emotions and even your sex appeal. Auras can be different colours depending on your mood. When you feel blue, your aura can get damaged or torn. When you feel great, your aura reflects that as well.

An energetically uniform aura indicates a healthier and more balanced being, you are more likely to attract magical experiences into your life and feel a sense of wonder about the all that is. When your energy is strong and clear, your life expands.

When you are feeling down and blue, in victim mode or our thoughts negative or unkind, then your aura is likely to reflect this and affect our overall well-being. If a person has been subjected to trauma, in the form of physical, emotional or mental abuse, or are ill, then it will very likely be reflected in the colours on display in their auric field.

Your aura acts as an energetic shield that surrounds you and embraces you and acts as both a filter and an antenna that brings energy into your body and, in turn, sends energy back out into the universe.

Who Can See Auras?

Some people can see auras naturally, whereas the majority cannot. The good news is that if you wish to apply yourself, you too can learn how to see, feel, or sense auras through regular practice. Auras can be seen with the eyes wide open, or also be seen with the eyes closed upon our inner-eye.

It is important to remember that everything that we do must be for the highest good, in other words, it is inappropriate according to universal laws, to take advantage of the ability to see auras to manipulate or gain power over others. This article will not address how to see auras, if you are interested in developing this skill please check out the article How to See Your Own and Others’ Auras for more information.

The Shape of Auras

When seen, or sensed, an aura may appear in different shapes, rounded, a pointed oval, or perhaps square shape. It will vary in size and intensity according to the personal emotional, physical and spiritual state of wellbeing of the person involved.

Aura Full Body

Round

Whilst is mostly round this shape aura is slightly oval at the top and bottom. The top is located above the head, the whole extends out and around the body a little beyond arm’s length. The rounded aura shows a soul in the process of gradual spiritual growth.

Pointed Oval

The pointed oval shape is the mark of a master, it is pointed at both the bottom and top and reaches up about 61cms (24 inches) above the head and below the feet and around the body. The circumference is usually gold fin colour and is found in those very near to or already blossomed into his or her Divine self.

Square Shape

Slightly larger than the rounded aura and it looks like someone is stuck inside of a cube with the physical body seeming off-centre within the shell. The space around the physical boy is uneven with more room at the bottom than at the top.

No-one is born with a square shaped aura, and it is a sign that we need to pay attention of our spiritual health as consciousness may be stuck or even devolving. Auras can change from a rounded shape to a square shape if we are living a life that is not in line with the goals of our higher self or are being wantonly self-destructive in our behaviour patterns.

Divisions of the Aura

Our aura has different divisions that reflect our physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing.

Health Division

The physical makeup of the body includes the organs, glands, tissues and their general condition. This division has health lines or striations that move out from the physical body to the perimeter of the auric shell.

Good health lines come through as very strong, silvery-white energy, poor health as a dull metal grey.

Contours emanating from the physical body as reds and oranges may indicate a body that is strong and robust. Organs also have an aura around them, with healthy organs having a rosy hue and sick organs that require attention a dull grey hue.

Mental Division

This is to do with your thoughts and the energies in this division may appear to be moving in and around the head. A lemon-yellow glow crowning the very top of the head indicates intellectual capacity. A gold band may also be evident of amplified power and strength that is present in the mental body.  The larger the field the more advanced an individual, although this may change according to the thoughts that we project.

The energy that radiates from the third eye, brow, or mental chakra in the centre of the forehead depends on the quality of our thoughts, enlightened or unenlightened thoughts will affect this colouring differently.

Emotional Division

Located around the solar plexus area extending to the outermost part of the aura this represents the total makeup of your emotional nature.

If you are angry or projecting angry thoughts, it appears dark red, shooting out like firecrackers. If you are in love or sending our loving or compassionate thoughts, the energy will appear as beautiful pinks and fuchsia like-colours, a very powerful and personal part of the aura.

Bright radiant colours like oranges, pinks, greens or blues will be in evidence for those who have mastered their emotions.  If someone is destructive emotionally, these colours may be dark displaying browns, greens or even black. Most people display a mixed bag of colours in this division.

Magnetic Division

It is  about 5 centimetres in diameter round in shape and, displaying peacock blue and ocated on the left side of the chest, a little above the heart. The magnetic division displays creative talents and abilities.

Bright electric blues and oranges mean the person is actively using their abilities and rays of light and colour shoot out.

Colour Division

This division is 20 centimetres thick, forming an oval shape that extends from about 45-60 centimetres all the way around a person and displays colours that represent the total character of an individual.

These points sparkle in a rainbow of sparkling colours in an an enlightened aura, neglected abilities or talents may result in a dull colour

To elevate this division to its highest potential, we must elevate the other divisions.

Spiritual Division

The spiritual division reveals our state of spiritual being and advancement. This division is seen Visible about 60 centimetres above the head in arching bands of light about 1 centimetre thick, fanning out upward in various pear colours, creating a rainbow effect.

The brighter the bands of light the more advanced someone is spiritually with the bands to varying degrees and intensity. The colours can range from pale pinks to lemon yellows to light greens, or indigo in a particularly advanced individual.

Our aura has different divisions that reflect our physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing.

Aura Colours and Meanings

Colours are an important aspect of aura reading and it is important to engage your intuition when interpreting the many possible combinations. The descriptions above and below are not to be taken literally, and certainly not as a definitive analysis of someone’s personality or state of wellbeing, although they do give a good insight into their current state of being. The shape and colouration of the auric fields changes according to mood and circumstances, holy one day, devilish the next, positive state of mind one moment, negative the next.

We can generally get a good indication when reading an aura if there is something more serious going if very dark colours predominate, that’s generally a sign that mainstream medical advice should be seriously considered.

Gold and white symbolise purity and a spiritual or visionary soul, one who is advanced on their journey back to source. It takes work to get to this stage, unless we have incarnated as an advanced soul with the experience of many lifetimes striving for the highest good in our previous incarnations.

GOLD AURA: Those with a gold aura know who and what they are. The colour gold is indicative of self-confidence, faith, inner strength, wisdom, illumination and a vital protective energy.

SILVER AURA:  A sign of those with a quick alert mind and keen powers of observation, good listening skills, someone who is happy thinking for himself or herself. Silver is the energy of spiritual intelligence.

OYSTER WHITE AURA: White with a tinge of yellow symbolises the soul as steadfast and working hard to learn certain lessons.

CRYSTAL WHITE AURA: A pure form that shows a soul has acquired mastery, indicated by determination, perseverance, strength and vitality.

PEARL WHITE AURA: Kindness and a forgiving quality.

BLUE AURA: Gifted people and intuitive people may show pale blue coloration. Those with blue strong points in their aura are typically relaxed and balanced often born survivors. Signifies integrity and sincerity, and those with a blue aura may even be involved in the arts. The colour aqua is a very healing colour with a high vibration. Primary blue is also a strong healing colour. Blue might also represent someone seeking spiritual truth.

A deeper blue can indicate loneliness. A very deep blue shows devotion, honesty and good judgment whereas muddier shades of blue indicates a domineering person or a tendency towards depression.

GREEN AURA: Sympathetic to others, dependable and has healing abilities. Green is also restful and a natural healing colour. Many natural healers typically have green in their auras. Green represents growth and renewal with emerald green indicating a soul who is in balance and harmony of the mind, body and soul. May indicate a love of gardening. A person with a strong and green aura exudes peacefulness to those around.

Apple green shows new spiritual hope, loving service and cooperation whilst pale represents a sympathetic person.

Muddier shade could indicate jealousy- like “green with envy”.

TURQUOISE AURA: Prosperity and abundance of everything from friends to material goods, money, and asset accumulation. You can also use the turquoise light to help build a wealth and prosperity consciousness. A person who tends to think in unlimited ways, a dynamic quality of being or a highly energised personality, good organisers.

PINK AURA: Rose Pink, The colour of love. This person knows how express love, devoid of jealousy and bitterness, joy, comfort and compassion. A perfect balance between spiritual awareness and the material existence. Indicates an honesty. It also depicts the quieter side of an artistic and creative person. Quite rare appearing only as a fleeting moment, never as a strong point in the aura apart from in very advanced compassionate souls.

Dark pink may indicate immaturity or changes with your love life. Dull pink, watch out, someone may be lying either to themselves or others

LEMON YELLOW:  Power of concentration able to focus on a subject or project and devote themselves to it until mastered. Artistic endeavours, creativity and scientific pursuits. Often a sign of a healthy mind, body and spirit, an optimistic colour optimistic, a glass half-full type of character.

RED AURA: Vitality, energy, passion and those with high aspirations. Warmth and desire. Red might also represent materialistic thoughts, thoughts about the physical body. A predominantly red aura indicates a materialistically oriented person.

On the flip-side much darker reds may reflect negative thinking, hate, strong emotions, a person ready to fly off the handle.

ORANGE AURA: Bright orange means one is growing emotionally and paranormally. Strong motivation, enthusiasm and good organisational skills, uplifting, absorbing and inspiring, a sign of great power. Contributes to a yellow halo, on its way to becoming gold, indicating that the person involved is on there way, if not already a spiritual teacher.

Flipside: Muddy orange shows in a person with too much pride. A dull shade means a person is unsure how to accept this growth. Orange can indicate a desire or at least a thought towards exercising power over or a desire to control people.

VIOLET AURA: A violet aura represents serenity and calmness.

PURPLE AURA: Spiritual thinker experiencing deep peace. Appears only as temporary “clouds” and “flames”

INDIGO AURA: Inner strength and a purely spiritual nature, seldom seen.

DARKER COLOURS that appear darker than the background – more like an opaque smoke than a glow.

A BROWN AURA May represent someone who is, unkind, cruel or petty. Possibly has an unsettling impact on others, distracting, materialistic, not comfortable with their own or others spirituality. May indicate stagnation either spiritually or in life in general.

Other interpretations suggest that seen around the head and with other colours emanating in combination, could indicate a person who is developing mentally, intuitively and starting to get their internal organisation sorted.

A GREY AURA possibly a sign of poor physical, mental or spiritual health, particularly the health if witnessed in the health division of the body as described above. Individuals may experiencing depressing dark thoughts, unclear intentions, and/or presence of a dark side of personality. Darker grey, can mean secretiveness or physical imbalance.
